		<description>Dr.Siva (Australia)

For last 50 years since independence Indian communities are left behind economically compare to counterpart. Before independent, most people lived in Malaysia were poor, living in traditional social arrangements. Scholars disagree that average standard of living among Indians were lower than average standard of living among other races in Malaysia at that time. Whatever it is , there is no question that most Malaysians, lived at very low standard compared with the norm in today&#039;s wealthier Malaysia.

From the Malaysian history it is learned that Indians have crawled without appropriate guide and support. Whatever is acheived today is merely from their hardworking. There is only very limited educational and financial opportunity available for Indian community. ethnicity and race create multiple vulnerabilities for those who belong to marginalized ethnic and racial minorities, who have borne a long history of discrimination.

The new economic policy was implemented to eradicate poverty and to eliminate the identification of race with economic functions (Chitose, 2003). This policy gives special privileges to Malay race. Reserve quota system created in higher education and scholarships, recruitment in public and private sector, shared ownership and business opportunity (Chitose, 2003). In Malaysia there are large gaps in terms of education and employment between those who belong to racial and ethnic minorities. Ethnic and racial minorities are also disproportionately represented among the poor. With less economic opportunity and hope, individuals from minority or disadvantaged groups are more likely to resort to risky behavior such as injecting drug use, involvement in crime and illegal sexual activities. Socially and economically marginalised populations also typically have less access to health information and services, increasing their vulnerability of contracting illness and reducing the chances that their illnesses would get adequately treated. Suicidal cases among the minority Indian ethnic is very high compare to other races (Rajasuriar et al, 2007) and (Fathelrahman et al, 2006). Poverty and racial discrimination is the main reason for this.

The contribution for Indians in the past from ruling government could not be denied. Whatever given even a little support which could be lot for Indian community never reached to the ground level. Government trusted the coalition party Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) but however the distribution is not clearly shown. Race sigma intersects with bad community leader developed grim future for Indian community in Malaysia. MIC president unlikely will vacate the post. The community has rejected his sevice as evidence the defeat in last general election but hence he insist to take control and claimed that he is the best of the best to be the party president. He has taken the community into his slavery and he wants more. The worst is community beg for their rights.
Mr president could be encounter dementia due to old age and obviously someone have to do force him to vacate and that is the only way to save our Indian community from poverty.

Mr Vicky as a founder of Malaysian Indian Youth Development Foundation has made his stand clear that the party president need to give away the position. Resigning from youth chief and quit the MIC is very bold and impressive protest against the president. The other members need to follow this steps if really concern about the Indian community. It is really appreciated.
